I'm 14 and have had Runner's Knee for 10 weeks. It's getting so annoying and depressing how i cant participate in any sporting events, or just hang out with my friends. I went to the doctor 2 times, had acupuncture, and am trying all these methods i find online but nothings working. I'm finally going to go to a physical therapist next week for maybe 3 weeks. Would this help? because ive tried "physical therapy at home by myself and it hasnt worked so far. BTW my my knees dont really hurt but they feel unstable when i walk and they grind a lot

Can acupuncture shorten recovery time?

Asked: Can acupuncture shorten recovery time?

Just two days ago, I got a second degree sprain while playing soccer. The ball had hit me on my ankle, which was loose, so it did a little 360 spin. Yesterday, I found it very hard to walk and had to use crutches. I went to the doctor's to check that there weren't any broken bones, and they told me not to exercise, work out, run, etc. from anywhere between 2-4 weeks. As an athlete, I though this was the worst disadvantage: not being able to exercise for such an elongated period. I then went to an acupuncture place to see if that would help heal the ankle. Today, I woke up feeling much better and can walk with very little discomfort. I have to go back to get acupuncture for three more days, which I'm sure will help even more.
I'm just curious if acupuncture is helping it heal or just making it less painful, and if I won't have to wait as long to get back to my usual training.

Thank you(:

Btw, I'm still a teen, so that may help my recovery time.

Should it be a colon or a semicolon?

Asked: Should it be a colon or a semicolon?

Acupuncture: a jab well done. This pun was written on a whiteboard today, my friend claims that using a colon after the word acupuncture was incorrect and that it should've been a semicolon. I disagree with her with every fiber of my being, and say that the colon is correct. Obviously this is of the upmost importance, please help me yahoo, please.

I’m a 14 year old boy and with severe Chronic Headache/Migraines.?

Asked: I’m a 14 year old boy and with severe Chronic Headache/Migraines.?

Hi. My name is Alec.
I'm a 14 year old boy, and I have severe chronic headaches/migraines. I'm not sure which ones I have. My headaches last anywheres from 2 days to 2 weeks. I get my headaches on the top of my head, and I have no symtoms before I get one, except sometimes I get overly tired. I have my headaches almost every day. Sometimes, I have 1 or 2 days a week without a headache.
My headaches started Nov. 2011 right after my tonsils and adenoids were taken out in Oct. I have tried a number of meds right when I get the migrane, and daily meds. They haven't helped at all. I've also tried a number of non-medical treatments also. I have tried no msg, no caffeine, no gluten, acupuncture, chiropractor, and many other things.
School has been really stressing me out because I have been missing so much of my freshman year. I go to an all boys military christian school. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to repeat the year.

Please, someone just give me some suggestions on what to do, cause I don't know what the hell to do anymore.

.-.

- Alec

Trying to quit smoking?

Asked: Trying to quit smoking?

I am in need of desperate help.

I have been a smoker for about 10 years, i have tried to quit at so many times during this periodbut have failed.I have tried the gum, patch, aromatherapy, acupuncture, cold turkey, keeping myself occupied and so on.Each one of those things did not help but actually i wanted to smoke more.

I have a child on the way and i have made a promise to myself that i will not be a smoker once my son/daughter is born.I have near gone into depression about trying to quit, my wife has been on me about as well.I know smoking is bad for me and know all about the health risks but my stupidity overcomes all of this.

My biggest issue is that i have a mental schedule that is pretty much set in stone, and abide by this on when to go have a smoke.i have tried to occupy myself during these times but i end up going for a smoke the first chance i have to cover off the missed time.there have been times where i have gone weeks on without smoking such as on vacation but as soon as i get back i pick up where i started.

i have thought of using Champix or one of those pills but if i am already near at points of depression and the side effects of these aer aligned with that i worry that it may take me into another state of mind.I have talked to my doctor on getting advice on trying to quit and he just said that cold turkey is the best option.

I am in need of serious help as like i stated before i have a child on the way and have promised myself that i will do whatever it takes to quit before he/she is born.

PLEASE HELP!!!!
